2 Easy Ways to Wrap Text in Adobe Illustrator

Method 1: Text Wrap Tool

If you want to wrap text around a simple shape or object, the Text Wrap Tool is the way to go. Follow these steps:

  1. Select the object you want to wrap text around.
  2. Go to ‘Object’ in the top menu, then ‘Text Wrap’ and choose ‘Make’.
  3. Your text will now wrap around the object seamlessly.

Tip: Use the Text Wrap Options panel to customize the spacing and offset of the wrapped text.

Method 2: Clipping Mask

For more complex shapes or objects, you can use a Clipping Mask to wrap text around them. Here’s how:

  1. Create your shape or object on a separate layer above the text.
  2. Select both the shape and the text.
  3. Go to ‘Object’ in the top menu, then ‘Clipping Mask’ and choose ‘Make’.
  4. Your text will now wrap around the shape or object within the Clipping Mask.

Tip: Edit the Clipping Mask shape by double-clicking on it with the Selection Tool.
